- Inspected vehicle for evidence of engine oil leak. Found oil present between engine and transmission area. Based on known TSB guidance and visible symptoms, possible sources include the rear main seal, crankshaft bolt threads, sealing flange, or upper oil sump. These are internal sealing surfaces that cannot be visually confirmed without transmission removal. Customer was advised that upper oil sump reseal is a known failure point and requires approximately 40 hours of labor due to extensive disassembly, with estimated repair cost exceeds $7,500. No repairs performed at this time.
